Enhancing quality by improving employee morale
Article Abstract:
High employee morale leads to significant performance improvement. A continuous quality improvement committee (CQI) at the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine discovered that strategies intended to raise departmental morale should answer the need for better communication. They should also provide opportunities wherein the efforts and contributions of all members of the college will be recognized. Social functions are also needed to enhance working relationship and give employees a break from their work.

Productivity Management: A Neglected Approach for Reducing Federal Government Costs
Article Abstract:
Effective productivity improvement efforts are lacking at the federal level. A high priority on productivity management will lower the cost of government. Productivity management in the private sector is examined. Elements of effective productivity management are listed. The Office of Personnel Management and the Office of Management and Budget must support productivity improvement efforts. Productivity goals and objectives must be required, and federal managers must be held accountable for the results.
