Europe's power demand is being met by sufficient capacity but industrial experts forecast that rapid growth and consumption will soon overtake it like in Ireland. Moreover, power is cheap no one wants to invest in added capacity like in Spain, and France has tightened up its market preventing investors from coming in.

Almost 90% of Brazil's electricity is hydroelectric, generated by its network of reservoirs. When droughts depleted the reservoirs, an electricity shortage resulted and gas-fired electric plants may be the expensive solution until the rains come again.
