EW Fact: bottom line war
Article Abstract:
EW Fact saw a drop in enrolment due to price competition from PAT in the market for accountancy courses. The company has restructured in response to this threat and achieved cost savings through merging two colleges. The company is also involved in degree-level courses, teaching students for Advanced level examinations and publishing study materials. The company's profit is forecast at 1.7 million pounds sterling for 1996 and 2 million pounds for 1997 by Williams de Broe.

Part-time and distance courses just the ticket
Article Abstract:
MBA study should be undertaken after students have accumulated some experience. This can cause problems in terms of giving up work, so distance learning and part-time courses are possible solutions. Employers see part-time courses as useful and they can benefit from unpaid consultancy work if the student carries out a project where he or she is employed. Distance learning is useful where students are in remote locations or cannot obtain time away from work to study.
