The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) undertakes regular superannuation fund reviews, alerts the industry and identifies the issues of trustees, accountants and auditors to areas of concern. The APRA has raised two recent issues namely future income tax benefits and anti-detriment deductions associated with death benefits, suggesting that trustees need to monitor the solvency of their funds.
