Gavin Ivester
Article Abstract:
Over the past few years, athletic shoe maker Puma has launched new stores, new designs and a new "feel" to its product lines. Some are retro and look back to styles of the 1970s, while others are futuristic, such as the Mostro model. According to senior-VP and general manager Gavin Ivester, the firm's heritage is important to establish if it wants credibility among the current generation of consumers. Ivester also says that Puma's aim is to become the most desirable "sportslifestyle brand," which means that performance and fashion must support one another. One good example is a boxing boot that started as a performance product but then morphed into a fashion statement.
