Perrier has been actively pursuing a strategy of brand acquisition all over the world since it was acquired by Nestle in 1992 and renamed Perrier Vittel SA. It currently owns over 60 brands of spring and mineral water in the US, Asia and Europe, including the famous brands Ashbourne and Buxton in England, Valvert in Belgium, San Pellegrino in Italy, and Deer Park and Arrowhead in the US. In Europe, the company's strategy is focused on product innovation. Perrier Vittel (UK) Managing Dir Nikita Droin says that his company is looking for new opportunities for consumption in the region and is working towards transforming Perrier as the drink for all occasions. Despite allegations of high levels of benzene contamination in 1990, the Perrier name continues to be popular in the UK because it has 'a feelgood factor.'
