Getting permission
Article Abstract:
Permission marketing is a simple technique that has been developed to counter act the bad public image of telemarketing that has been caused by abuses and intrusions. In permission marketing, the seller asks a prospective customer's permission to send a piece of mail or to continue a sales call, and while this type of marketing is always used in combination with direct mailing, it may be used before or after the mail is sent. Permission marketing eliminates 50 to 80 percent of fruitless mailings and works very well with people who have a recently made an important change in their lives. Perhaps the greatest advantage in permission marketing is that it promotes a pleasant and forthright working relationship with clients.
