Amstrad
Article Abstract:
Amstrad saw a rise in its stock price prior to the launch of the e-mailer, which offers an e-mail system, phone, address books and fax, and is geared to consumers who do not want to buy a PC. The stock price fell after the launch. The product does not provide full internet access, and has been overtaken by other developments in this market. The product could still generate advertising income. Meanwhile, Amstrad's set-top boxes are performing well in terms of sales, though the market leader, Pace, is promoting its set-top products as information gateways.

Glowtrend: hello sunshine
Article Abstract:
Glowtrend was set up by Brian Marsall who was previously a policeman, and the company's products include forgery detection devices. The company also produces sunbeds which are safer to use than conventional products due to a screen for UV radiation. The company uses outside distributors for its sunbeds. New models are planned for commercial use. The company does not have a track record and the shares are not easy to trade, so they are seen as a speculative investment.
