Technology without tears
Article Abstract:
Investors may be attracted to tecnology stocks, but be wary of buying at high valuations. They cannot easily predict which companies wil succeed, and may want to invest in a basket of stocks. This approach can reduce volatility, as is the case with Henderson Technology. Covariances can change over, time, and this is true for technology stocks. Covariances may still be lower than expected for technology stocks. The risk level of technology stocks is impossible to assess, though they may not involve as much risk as is assumed.

Good food, great shares - follow your nose to Europe
Article Abstract:
A large number of British investors are buying stocks from companies in mainland Europe, focusing especially on Germany and France. There are risks involved in that mainland European markets tend to be correlated with those of Britain, and the return on equity is not as high as for British stocks. This argument applies more to collective investment vehicles than to individual stocks. Investors face high commissions, and not all brokers deal in mainland European stocks. There are also differences between Britain and mainland Europe, for example in terms of corporate governance.
