Granada gets its elbows out

Granada has increased its stake in Yorkshire-Tyne Tees Television to 25% from 14%, and is likely to maximise its interests in television broadcasting when UK rules affecting this change in 1996 or 1997. Granada carried out the acquisition using a JV company is order not to fall foul of the existing UK regulations governing ownership of TV companies. Granada has paid a high price for its stake. A JV could also be used for a full offer for Yorkshire-Tyne Tees.
