Pakuwon Jati P.T. is the leading real estate developers in Surabaya, one of Indonesia's fastest-growing cities. In 1996, Rakuwon Jati generated net income of over Rp40 billion, up from Rp353 million in 1987; its assets fotalled Rp1.6 trillion at the end of 1996. Alexander Tedja started Rakuwon Jati in 1982; its first major project was the Plaza Tunjungan 1 shopping mall, which was completed in 1986.
