Article Abstract:

Taubman Centers, Inc. was embroiled in a public battle from November 13, 2002 until October 8, 2003 when it became the object of a hostile takeover. During this period, the corporate crisis team and the HR function executed strategies for the employees such as full disclosure, financial protection, and personal security so as to protect and retain critical talent. These tactics played an important role in keeping Taubman focused on operational performance during the crisis.
