Caught up in the net
Article Abstract:
Internet investing is not ruled by traditional methods for valuing stocks, and investors who have a long history of involvement in this activity are often perplexed by the new trends. There are still useful questions that can be asked about internet companies, such as the size of their potential markets, and whether they entered their market niches before the competition. Being a registered user is one way of securing stocks in a company carrying out an initial public offering.

Homespun thoughts on valuing rocketing stocks
Article Abstract:
Stock markets have recovered since fall 1998, when they underwent disturbances. Valuations appear to be high, and valuations for some stocks in internet companies and telecoms cannot be justified in terms of the profits those companies are likely to achieve. Investors could simply take part in speculative trends, or purchase stocks when they are undergoing setbacks. There is evidence to show that internet companies are changing the economy, but they should not be purchased when prices are too high.
