How to decipher the insiders' code
Article Abstract:
The two most used systems for rating funds are the Fund research ratings and the Micropal ratings from Standard and Poor's. The data provided includes a rating for volatility. Standard and Poor's is also a credit rating agency, as is Moody's, rating bonds from the private and public sectors. Meanwhile, indices are used as benchmarks for investors and they can be applied to sectors, indices, and companies ranksed by market capitalization as is the case of the FTSE 100 index.

Peace of mind at a price
Article Abstract:
Protected funds can be appealing at a time when there are fears of a stock market correction. Johnson Fry is an investment manager which has issued its 20/20 Hindsight, a protected fund offering 50% of the fund in the best of three markets, Japan, the US and UK. This is done by using derivatives, so investors do not obtain a dividend income, and they cannot benefit from the tax advantages of a personal equity plan for investment income. Charges also affect returns.
