Article Abstract:
Cash management is in a state of transition; the traditional information-gathering tasks of cash management have been automated, and interstate banking is changing the nature of corporation - bank relationships. In the future, cash managers will have to be able to effectively move information as well as cash in and out of the corporation. Cash management will change from being float-oriented to being more concerned with costs and risks.

Article Abstract:
Mellon Bank has developed a method for converting check- and mail-based receivables to an automated clearinghouse (ACH) system. Implementation of an ACH collection system at one company is discussed.
