ICAEW synopsis: The case for integration with CIPFA

ICAEW, determined to retain and build on its position as a world leading professional accountancy body, outlines its strategies as it proposes to integrate with the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA). ICAEW believes that the integration will increase its influence with government and standard-setters and provide additional resource to invest in maintaining the reputation and standing of members.

The ICAEW and public sector accountants' institute CIPFA are proposing to integrate into a single body called, the Institute of Chartered Accountants. Both institutes need a two-thirds majority of votes if integration is to go ahead.
