IT brass: C4 reform huge, but moving in 'right direction'

The House Armed Services Committee's terrorism and unconventional threats subcommittee held a hearing to probe why the Department of Defense (DOD) has so many command, control, communications and computer (C4) systems that perform similar functions. Marine Lt. Gen. Robert Shea, director for communications and computer systems on the Joint Staff, said that IT modernization was an enormous task, but that the military was moving in the right direction.
