The annual reports of United Kingdom investment trusts should provide information for stockholders on the performance of their investment, but they due to always give information on longer term performance The industry is investing in an advertising campaign to attract retail investors, yet is not providing these investors with the information that they need. Stockholders in investments trusts do not always know that they have a right to this information and need it. The Association of Investment Trust Companies reportedly plans to issue model annual reports, and there should be a minimum of 10 years data offered to stockholder.s

Warren Buffet and George Soros areboth famous as investors. Buffet's performance shows the power of compound interest and this has accumulated considerably since 1956 when he started an investment partnership. He has controlled Berkshire Hathaway from 1965. Soros became involved in fund management from 1969 and his Quantum Fund has a registered office in Curacao, while Berkshire Hathaway pays more to the Internal Revenue.
