Interiors maker refurbishes reputation
Article Abstract:
Aircraft Interior Manufacture (AIM) produces equipment for aircraft interiors, and the company has been affected by problems with a contract for KLM. The contract has been completed and AIM's profit is recovering strongly. The company ranks first in the UK market, following the acquisition of Hunting's aircraft interiors activities in 1998. The group has tended to take on major contracts, which means that sales have tended to be uneven, but this is changing and the customer base has become more diverse.

Profit growth still on the back seat at Ipeco
Article Abstract:
Ipeco produces aircraft seats and should benefit from increased demand from Boeing, but has been hit by the problems of Fokker and a strike affecting Boeing causing short-term problems. Fokker's collapse affected Ipeco's results for 1995 and is also likely to affect results in 1996. Problems facing the aircraft industry as a whole affect Ipeco. The company has moved into a leadership role in the world market for seats for aircraft crew and should benefit from its position as a main supplier for Boeing.
