Jitona decreased its proceeds, it expects growth in 2001

Jitona (Sobeslav, Czech Republic), furniture manufacturer, expects its proceeds to increase by CEK 1.7 bil in 2001 compared to 2000. In 2000 it saw proceeds of CEK 1.25 bil and a net profit of CEK 80 mil. Originally, the firm was to increase its proceeds by CEK 300 mil in 2000 compared to CEK 1.3 bil in 1999. The proceed drop was caused by the restructuring of the firm's domestic sales. Jitona decreased the number of its plants from nine to four and left upholstered set production. It has focused on kitchen sets, wall systems and bedroom suites. The firm exported 82% of its production in 2000. It is trying to strengthen its position on the domestic market currently, setting up a network of its own brand shops. In 2000 it got to the furniture trade network Ikea. Jitona has 1,100 employees. Its owner is the financial group Expandia (Czech Republic).

General Electric expects growth, its domestic branch succeeds

GE Capital Leasing (Prague, Czech Republic), leasing company, increased the volume of newly arranged transactions by CEK 0.9 bil to CEK 7.5 bil in 2000 compared to 1999. The firm arranged a total of 37,500 leasing contracts in 2000, 17% more compared to 1999. More than 50% of the 2000 contracts were rerpresented by contracts on used cars. The firm is in the first position on the domestic market in the leasing of used cars. In the field of the leasing of new cars, it has less than a 10% share on the market. GE Capital Leasing is the fourth largest leasing firm in the Czech Republic. It is a part of the global concern General Electric (GE). GE expects its total profit to increase by dozens per cent in 2001 compared to 2000.

Masny Prumysl Krasno expects growth

Masny prumysl Krasno (Zlin, Czech Republic), meat and smoked goods producer, expects proceeds of CEK 155 bil for 2000. The sum is CEK 270 mil higher compared to 1999. The firm expects a profit of about CEK 4 mil for 2000. Its main consumers are the trade chains Ahold, Billa, Makro, Tesco, Meinl and Spar. The firm had 502 employees at the end of 2000.
