England: some merger of Navy/Marines, Air Force might work

Secretary of the Navy Gordon England who may be named Secretary of the Air force soon, said that some rationalization of the Navy/Marine Corps and Air Force tactical air assets might make sense for the Department of Defense (DOD). England told Defense Journalists at a round table meeting, that its very important that they look at the tactical aircraft across DOD to avoid redundancies in air capabilities.

Overseas contractors should be allowed to compete: analysts

The analysts suggest that the globalization can help the Pentagon's procurement policymakers to buy the best for fewer costs. The decisions should not be based on bad economics and false patriotism, instead the aircraft should be procured based upon the safety, and performance, high-tech communications and sufficient space and also the overseas contractors should be allowed to compete.
