Henri d'Orleans
Article Abstract:
Henri d'Orleans, Count of Paris, wished to restore the monarchy in France, though he believed that the monarch should be elected. He was sent by President Charles de Gaulle to North Africa on diplomatic missions, and was on good terms with a number of French leaders. The French presidency in some ways resembles a monarchy and uses the former royal palace of Versailles. His claim to the throne was disputed by the Bourbons, also part of the royal family with their own pretender.
