London-based site developers look to U.S. as Web yardstick

The World Wide Web industry in London, England, are comparable to those in the United States. According to the Web Price Index survey of London-based Web site designers, the costs of developing a Web site in London and in most cities in the US are almost on the same level. It is not surprising, therefore, that British marketers use the American model to build Web sites. In general, however, the American Internet industry States is more mature because several factors hinder the growth of the sector in London.

Survey of developers shows how much it costs to add personalization to sites

Marketing executives can utilize the World Wide Web to target specific markets by communicating messages directly to the people who are particularly interested in them. There is an increasing trend towards personalization of Web sites. Browsers such as Yahoo! and the Weather Channel lets users formulate their own personalized versions of what they expect to see when they visit the home pages of these sites. A survey was conducted to determine the expenses incurred by personalization of sites.
