Article Abstract:
The influence of Marchian distinction between exploration and exploitation within the MNE(multinational enterprises) affecting the level of R and D in each type of subsidiary (those that are competence-creating versus those that are competence exploiting) is discussed. It is shown that the inter-subsidiary R and D diversity proportionally influences the MNE's growth through acquisition.
