Manual handling performance: The effects of menstrual cycle phase
Article Abstract:
The physical, physiological and subjective responses to isometric and dynamic lifting performance during five stages of the eumenorrheic menstrual cycle, were examined. The tasks involved maximal isometric lifting strength (MILS) and the selection of a maximal acceptable load (MAL). The rating of perceived exertion (RPE) for all lifting tasks was independent of the menstrual phase, and the effects of the eumenorrheic menstrual cycle on lifting capability were found to be negligible.

A comparison of circadian rhythms in work performance between physically active and inactive subjects
Article Abstract:
The circadian rhythms between two groups of shiftworkers exhibiting different levels of habitual physical activity are investigated. Results show that physically active people did not differ from sedentary people in terms of the phasing of circadian rhythms, but rhythm amplitudes are higher for physically fit people. Lastly, regular exercise can induce training effects that are beneficial for prolonged work-performance.

Effects of daytime ingestion of melatonin on short-term athletic performance
Article Abstract:
A research was conducted to examine whether daytime ingestion of melatonin leads to impairments in variables relevant to short-term athletic performance. The immediate effects of ingesting melatonin during the daytime are particularly evident for mental rather than physical components of short-term athletic performance, although the cardiovascular responses to exercise are affected.
