Manzi shepherds Industry.Net forward, plans branding effort

Industry.Net's Jim Manzi says that the top priority of his company is to expand its base of selling clients. He adds that it is also designing a system that will enable buyers as well as sellers to conduct their transactions online, with Internet.Net receiving a fee. Manzi, who used to be an executive at Lotus Development Corp., explains that Industry.Net is committed to building electronic relationships and lowering the cost for sellers in terms of sales, marketing, purchasing and product acquisition.

The Oct. 1996 Direct Marketing Assn. convention in New Orleans, LA, stressed the use and effectivity of Internet marketing. Sun Express Pres. Dorothy Terrell claimed that increased customer access to the Internet, enhanced online security, online payment features, easy online orders and the need to gain competitive edge, warrant the immediate implementation of an Internet marketing plan. The Internet also offers a cost-effective means to reach customers quickly.

Trade magazines going strong, but challenges looming

Trade magazine publishers have to address two major issues to maintain strong growth. These are the failure of marketers to handle the leads their trade magazine ads generate and the rise of the Internet as a sales and marketing tool. Publishers are advised to conduct seminars and other programs that would assist marketers in replying to ad-generated leads as well as enhance their Internet presence.
