Mark Pesce
Article Abstract:
Mark Pesce is one of the creators of Virtual Reality Markup Language (VRML), the first open non-proprietary communications protocol for building networked virtual environments. Pesce introduced VRML 1.0 in May 1994 along with programmers Tony Paresi and Peter Kennard at the first World Wide Web Conference. VRML 2.0 was unveiled in August 1996, which is usable in any hardware platform, such as Mac or UNIX. The VRML is emerging as the de facto standard for building and connecting dynamic 3-D objects in cyberspace. Apple, IBM and other firms are accepting VRML.
