McDonnell Douglas: planr ride to riches
Article Abstract:
McDonnell Douglas has been awarded a contract worth $18 billion to supply military transport aircraft to the US government. This should mean an additional 7,000 jobs, and security for employees at the company's facilities in Long Beach. Deliveries commence from 1998. The order could lead to additional sales to countries friendly with the US. Boeing was also competing for the contract and is the main loser resulting from the deal.
