Article Abstract:
Cyprus is developing its telecommunications and transportation links. There is no railroad system, and road links were hit by the occupation of Cyprus since they tended to be concentrated in the northern area which was invaded. Ports were set up in the south after Famagusta was lost in the north. Lanarca and Limassol, the new ports, are free trade zones. Cyprus is also expanding its telecommunications system using digital switching. Cyprus Telecommunications Authority (CYTA) provides national ad international services.
