Morgan Crucible
Article Abstract:
Morgan Crucible is an engineering firm which should benefit from improvements in the semiconductor and steel industries' prospects. The company issued a warning on its results for 1998 in Jan 1999 and the stock price dropped, though it has since recovered. The company has also restructured, and the benefits that this will bring are not reflected in its stock price. Labor costs have been a problem, but lean manufacturing costs are being brought into the ceramics business, allowing costs to be cut.
