Motion sickness in public road transport: The effect of driver, route and vehicle
Article Abstract:
The link between incidences of motion sickness during travel to the rates of low-frequency motion occurring in road vehicles was investigated. Low-frequency motion was examined as a function of vehicle type, vehicle driver and route. Passenger nausea and illness increased with increased exposure to lateral coach motion at low frequencies, and nausea occurrence was higher on routes that were predominantly cross-country. There were no significant differences in sickness between the different vehicle types.

Motion sickness in public road transport: passenger behaviour and susceptibility
Article Abstract:
Research was conducted to examine the environmental and personal factors affecting passenger susceptibility to motion sickness in public road transport. Data were collected from a sample of 3,256 coach travellers pooled across 56 journeys who responded to a questionnaire survey. Results indicate that poor forward visibility was a major factor contributing to motion sickness along with passenger age, gender and regularity of travel.

Factors affecting static seat cushion comfort
