Swimming with the big fish
Article Abstract:
The north west of England and city of Manchester have seen a revival in venture capital activity in 1999, following a quiet period during 1998. Venture capitalists are increasingly involved in deals where they fund the growth of private companies by acquisition, so that those companies can compete better in their markets. The bombing of Manchester's city center has been a test that the region has overcome, and entrepreneurial spirit is high in the region.
