Natural wanders
Article Abstract:
Dutch Designer Marcel Wanders hopes to increase the number of his products sold in the US and has signed up with Culture and Commerce. Wanders does not want to go into the mass market or work solely on designing a few artistic pieces. His studio Wanders Wonders had revenues of $1 million in 1999. They carry out some commercial work for firms, such as designing stacking cups for British Airways. Wanders often uses innovative materials for his work, such as the natural sponge used to make the Sponge Vase. Wanders exhibited at the Freserieke Taylor/TZ' Art Gallery, New York, in Oct 1999.
