Article Abstract:
Metric Systems Corp., Fort Walton Beach, Fla., is being awarded an $8,061,665 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, time and materials contract to procure diagnosis, repair, and engineering services; technology insertion; software services; training; configuration management; and equipment/parts for the Global Positioning System (GPS) range application program test and evaluation ranges, training ranges, and authorized foreign military test and evaluation and training ranges. This contract combines purchases for the U.S. Navy (40%), U.S. Air Force (35%), U.S. Army (10%), and the government of Germany (15%) under the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Program. Work will be performed in Fort Walton Beach, Fla. (85%), and various GPS test and evaluations ranges and training ranges (15%), and is expected to be completed in June 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 30 proposals solicited and two offers received.
