Article Abstract:
Northrop Grumman Norden Systems, Inc., Melville, N.Y., is being awarded an $8,120,000 modification to previously awarded contract N00024-94-C-5441 for two low rate initial production SPQ-9B radar units. The SPQ-9B radar improvement is intended to enhance anti-ship missile defense capability by modifying existing AN/SPQ-9 shipboard radar. This is a high performance pulse doppler surveillance radar for surface warfare Navy use against present and projected low altitude, high speed and small cross-section missile threats. Work will be performed in Melville, N.Y., and is expected to be completed in February 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.

Raytheon Co. (doing business as) Raytheon Systems Co. Sensors and Electronics Systems, El Segundo, Calif., is being awarded a $70,000,000 fixed-price-incentive-fee contract for the low rate initial production of 20 ALR-67(V)3 systems plus spares for the F/A-18E/F aircraft. The ALR-67(V)3 is a radar-warning receiver system which is an electronic countermeasure warfare device that helps protect aircraft against radar-controlled weapons. Work will be performed in Los Angeles, Calif., and is expected to be completed by September 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity (N00019-98-C-0003).
