NAFTA helps keep the Salinas legacy alive
Article Abstract:
Mexico continues to be a prime investment site for Canadian investors, despite its economic and political problems. Prospective investors will discover that Mexico's accounting standards are comparable to those in Canada as a result of the North American Free Trade Agreement. However, investors should realize that methods of calculating for inflationary effects are different in Mexico. They should also be well-versed in labor statutes being implemented in Mexico. A discussion of the key differences between the two countries' accounting standards with regard to inflation and labor costs is presented.
