New resources and new ideas: private equity for small businesses
Article Abstract:
High-net worth individuals or 'angel' investors are found to play an important role in raising private equity for rapidly growing small businesses. Commercial and publicly available data, particularly the National Survey of Small Business Finance and that of other databases are used and further areas of study identified. Areas to be studied include angel investor activity, contracting, and the pricing of securities.

The National Federation of Independent Business conducts surveys of its members to determine the characteristics and dynamics of their financial activities. Survey dynamics being determined include bank rating and services offered, perceptions on businesses, cheapest and most available money, speed of processing, helpful assistance and the convenience and accessibility of the services.
