No flight of fancy
Article Abstract:
Boeing Co. is providing its 140,000 employees with a $1.15-billion Stock Employee Compensation Trust that aims to link employee performance to corporate results. The trust transaction, which is free of management control and influence during its 12-year life, is the company's way of enhancing productivity and assuring its employees that they also have access to stock options and payouts. Operating under a four-year measurement period, the trust was split into two investment periods, with the first running through Jun 1998 and the second running through Jun 2000.
