'Nonqualified deferred com plans' help firms retain key employees
Article Abstract:
Many PR firms establish 'nonqualified deferred compensation plans' (NQDC) for executives and employees owing to the limitations on contributions and retirement benefits allowed in most qualified retirement plans. In many cases, NQDC plans are not subject to the tax and labor law requirements that govern qualified pension and profit-sharing plans. There are three types of NQDC plans based on their use of approaches for funding, namely salary continuation, salary deduction and death benefit only.
