Nothing ventured, nothing gained: the ASX Corporate Governance Council has missed the mark with its corporate governance guidelines

Critics of the ASX Corporate Governance Council's guidelines, 'Principles of Good Corporate Governance and Best Practice Recommendations' feel that the council has not been able to contribute significantly towards corporate governance in Australia. The lack of concise definition of corporate governance and inability to recognize the relation among the different corporate governance mechanisms are considered as the reasons for its failure.
