Novell has altered its distribution strategy and this has affected results for the three months to Mar 1996. The company has reduced retailers' inventories and disposed of its applications software activities which have been acquired by Corel. Novell is shedding staff and need to control costs further to convince financial markets. Sales of corporate networking software rose by 125% but there is a threat from the NT system from Microsoft.
