Investing in emerging markets: emerging issues and trends
Article Abstract:
The term 'emerging markets' refers to a broad group of countries at various stages of economic development that generally involve correcting perceived distortions in the national economy. Given the diversity of the structural characteristics of these nations, an analysis of emerging economies is conducted from a multi-disciplinary perspective. Literatures from the fields of accounting, finance, economics and political economy are reviewed to gain a better understanding of emerging economies.

On globalization and capitalization
Article Abstract:
The neo-mercantilist roots of Western capitalism, which are too deeply ensconced in the cultural foundations of mainstream economics and have the capacity to distort income distribution by limiting ownership of the capital stock among a small number of capitalist elite, make global capitalization a self-destructive concept. Global capitalization shifts income from the poor of low-income countries in the South to the rich of high-income countries in the North.

On globalization and capitalization
Article Abstract:
Capitalization proved to be economically unattractive when implemented at the global scale. Its unattractiveness results as Western capitalism's neo-mercantilist roots have the tendency to take for granted the welfare of the South while promoting capitalization in the interest of the North. Capitalization also has the ability to distort the income distribution of the North by concentrating capital stock ownership among small capitalist elite.
