Asset divestiture following horizontal acquisitions: a dynamic view
Article Abstract:
The reasons behind the divestment of assets after a horizontal acquisition are researched. While some feel mass divestiture after an acquisition is a sign of a poor acquisition, this study shows that divestiture is just a logical reorganization of the merged company's assets.
