Perspectives on computer aiding in cognitive work domains: toward predictions of effectiveness and use
Article Abstract:
A two-stage process for evaluating computer aiding in cognitive work domains is described. The first stage relies on a taxonomic framework that facilitates assessments regarding relative strengths and weaknesses of humans and computers and the second stage introduces a construct of tension which addresses the potential implications of the of the interplay between computer aiding constructs and human tendencies.
