Physical workload of lorry drivers: a comparison of four methods of transport
Article Abstract:
Three groups of truck drivers were compared with drivers working with bulk cargo with respect to their time spent on tasks and activities during the working day and their postural and physiological workload during loading and unloading. The heart rate (HR) was continuously monitored and related to observed task. The HR and oxygen uptake relationship during a simulation of loading and unloading and the maximum oxygen uptake were measured in a laboratory for every driver. The null hypothesis was that there were no differences.

Current techniques for assessing physical exposure to work-related musculoskeletal risks, with emphasis on posture-based methods
Article Abstract:
Work-related musculoskeletal disorders are linked with many occupational risk factors. There are various methods to assess exposure to risk linked to work-related musculoskeletal disorders. Existing techniques that are largely posture-based, including pen and paper based observation methods, videotaping and computer-aided analysis, are assessed, and their applications are considered.

Gender differences in exerted forces and physiological load during pushing and pulling of wheeled cages by postal workers
Article Abstract:
A study on postal workers aimed to determine gender differences with regard to exerted forces and physiological load during a pushing and pulling task. The differences between male and female workers were statistically significant with regard to the average forces and ending forces exerted during the pushing and pulling tasks.
