Planning for the next generation
Article Abstract:
Trusts can be used for children's financial needs, with assets managed by an investment manager with experience of trusts. There is a need for good communication and a long term approach. Trustees should be able to discuss the portfolio when they need to, and there should be formal reviews on a regular basis. Equities should be used for trusts used to pay for educational costs, since fixed interest investments alone may not provide sufficient growth.
