Polish vodka attracts Stock
Article Abstract:
Stock (Plzen, Czech Republic), spirits producer, will acquire the liqueur firm Polmos (Zielona Gora, Poland) in a consortium with Vin & Star (Sweden). Polmos produces the most demanded Polish vodka Luksusowa. The Czech-Swedish consortium plans to acquire at least an 80% stake in Polmos. The stake will be equally divided between both the firms. Stock would pay DEM 30-45 mil for a 40% stake in Polmos. The acquisition should enable Stock to further extend its production. In 2001 Stock plans to invest several dozens of millions of Czech crowns in the support of sales. The firm plans to increase the sales of its products by 45% in 2001 compared to 1 mil lt of spirits in 2000. It plans to expand abroad, mainly to Slovakia and Poland.
