Possible LCS, international sales: BAE eyes expanded markets for ship protection gun
Article Abstract:
BAE Systems is planning to widen the sales of the MK 38 Machine Gun ship-protection system it is providing to the Navy, which was originally a product of United Defense and BAE acquired Mk 38 as part of its merger with United Defense in the year 2005. It is reported that the 25-millimeter weapon is equipped to defend ships on a relatively close in basis from fast, agile surface threats, including the possibility of attack by terrorist swarm boats.

Exec: Boeing worries about homeland security tech liability

The Boeing Company officials have declined to bid on some homeland security contracts, as they fear that the company might get into some legal liability. Boeing views homeland security contract differently as it is heavily involved in making aircraft for the commercial aviation industry and its commercial aircraft operations represents a major portion of the critical infrastructure of the country.
