Privatisation trends
Article Abstract:
Global privatization activity has shown a decline of 26% in 1998. It was among the European members of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) where most of the activity took place. In non-OECD countries, privatization activity was reduced due to the Asian financial crisis and the restriction of investments in Russia. However, Brazil showed a remarkable privatization activity with its telecom in the second half of 1998.
