Probing the precision of the mitotic clock with a live-cell fluorescent biosensor
Article Abstract:
A parallel total internal reflection fluorescence (TIRF) microscopy is used for studying the fluorescent mitosis biosensor that monitors the time between nuclear envelope breakdown (NEB) and re-formation. The results suggest that Taxol is responsible for slowing down the mitotic clock and delaying the anaphase onset and also highlights the sensitivity of this method that assists in measuring small changes in the mitotic clock at clinically relevant concentrations.

Deviant effects in molecular reaction pathways
Article Abstract:
A study characterizes potential classical chemical kinetics (CCK) failure patterns in biological settings, including consequences of the assertion that CCK is closer to the mode rather than the average of stochastic reaction dynamics, as generally perceived. The importance of the deviant effects in biotechnologically or biomedically relevant applications are highlighted and some approaches to diagnosing them in situ are suggested.
